The included interchangeable choke tubes allow hunters to fine-tune their shot patterns for specific game and distances. The synthetic stock features a comfortable length of pull and includes a recoil pad that helps tame the already-moderate recoil of 28-gauge loads. Even extended shooting sessions remain comfortable thanks to the lightweight design and well-engineered ergonomics.

Maintenance of the Retay 28 Gauge ACE Bottomland is straightforward, with field-stripping accessible to any shotgunner with basic mechanical skills. Intended Use & Applications

The Retay 28 Gauge ACE Bottomland semi-auto shotgun appeals primarily to upland game hunters pursuing quail, woodcock, grouse, and similar birds across diverse terrain. The 28-gauge cartridge delivers sufficient energy for clean kills on these smaller game birds while generating minimal recoil and reduced noise compared to 12 or 20-gauge alternatives. Hunters who have transitioned to 28-gauge appreciate the lighter shell weight, faster target acquisition, and extended shooting comfort that the Retay provides. The Bottomland camouflage finish blends seamlessly in agricultural fields, brushy transitions, and open woodlands typical of prime upland habitat.

Sport shooters competing in NSSA (National Shoot Shooters Association) events and informal clay target competitions also gravitate toward the Retay 28 Gauge ACE Bottomland for its balanced handling and smooth reliability. The semi-automatic action reduces shooter fatigue during high-round-count shooting days, while the lightweight profile aids in quick target transitions. Competitive shooters appreciate the consistency of inertia-plus operation and the predictable recoil impulse that facilitates quick follow-up shots. The Bottomland finish provides a professional appearance on the sporting clays circuit.

Younger shooters and smaller-framed hunters find the Retay 28 Gauge ACE Bottomland particularly appealing due to its manageable recoil and reduced overall weight compared to 12-gauge alternatives. Women hunters and youth shooters can develop proper shooting technique and build confidence without struggling against excessive recoil. The lighter ammunition cost of 28-gauge loads compared to 12-gauge makes extended practice sessions more economical. Many instructors recommend the Retay 28 Gauge ACE Bottomland for introducing new shooters to the shotgun sports because it balances performance with approachability.
